It is due to the courtesy and cooperation of the merchants and City of Delray Beach that these art shows are made possible. Exhibitors must keep this in mind and work to the benefit of us and the City of Delray Beach.
Because of the dramatic increase of our liability insurance, a $25.00 fee will be charged to each exhibitor for the season. This one-time fee is for exhibiting in one show or all eleven shows. Payable at your first show.
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE EXHIBITOR TO READ AND UNDERSTAND THE RULES.
- When you arrive at the venue, report to the show chairperson for your space assignment.
- Spaces are limited to no more than 13` X 13` and must be kept neat and clean. All storage containers must be kept behind either your tent or racks within this area. No more than 2 print racks can be kept outside your booth. Print Racks are not to exceed 30" in width, No exhibitor`s equipment can be within 3 feet of either side of the sidewalk, as per city mandate.
- Absolutely NO STAKES. You will need substantial weights for your racks and tents. We exhibit rain or shine unless designated by the outdoor show committee. There must be at least 10 artists available in order to do a show.
- All transactions are the responsibility of the exhibitor. Each exhibitor is responsible for all Florida Sales Tax (in Palm Beach County the tax rate is 6%).THE LEAGUE ADVISES THAT EACH EXHIBITING MEMBER APPLY FOR THEIR OWN SALES TAX NUMBER. Call (561) 640-2800.
- Your booth is a fine art gallery and it should look like it. Exhibitors should be clean and properly attired. Paintings must be framed or gallery wrapped for hanging. All artwork must be displayed on racks or stands unless weight or size prevents this. No artwork shall be displayed on the ground.
- A sign stating your name should be displayed; also have a good name tag to wear. Labels stating price must be displayed on or near your art.
- The work in your booth must be original, created by your hand and NEVER COPIED. You may have reproductions and GICLEES but they must be your work and labeled as such. No class work should be displayed.
- Exhibitor must be a paid up member of the Delray Art League.
- Work displayed must be similar type and quality to work that was used to obtain jury approval to join the League.
- Subject matter considered to be lewd or in poor taste will be prohibited, such as a representation of a nude figure. Exceptions to these prohibitions must be approved by the show chairperson (per city mandate).
- All exhibitors are expected to be present for the advertised hours of the show. Cars must be moved to the designated parking area by 9:30 a.m. with a parking display card in front window. No cars are to be parked in restricted areas such as retail store spaces in front of the Plaza. Close down is 4:30 p.m.; cars may be moved back to the exhibiting area at 4:15 p.m. THIS IS A CITY MANDATE. Earlier take down is prohibited except by permission of the show chair person. Exhibit areas must be cleaned up by the end of the show & all zip-ties picked up. If exhibitor intends to show for only one day, the show chairperson should be advised before setting up.
- Alcoholic beverages are prohibited as are any illegal substances. NO ANIMALS OR BIRDS should be brought to shows. Exhibitors are requested to keep volume down on radios and tape decks.
- The Show Treasurer will distribute scholarship fund donor envelopes. A voluntary donation of 10% of sales is suggested. Envelopes will be collected by the Show Treasurer after 4 p.m. the last day of the show.
- No sleeping while exhibiting at a show.
- No award ribbons or "Sale" signs should be displayed at shows.
- Our 501 C 3 status prohibits any political activity
- NOT ACCEPTABLE CATEGORIES, Computer Generated Art, Crafts, Glass, Pottery, Fiber Art, Bead Stringing, Jewelry. (Exceptions for those grand fathered in)
Any exhibitor who disobeys the rules or causes a disturbance, in the judgment of the outdoor show committee will be warned and a report will be submitted to the Board of Directors who will send a letter to the exhibitor which may or may not include a sanction depending on the severity of the offense. In the event an exhibitor should be involved in a physical altercation or flagrant violation of the rules or any other serous act, the outdoor show committee in their judgment will instruct the exhibitor to leave the show at the time given by the committee. The incident will be reported to the Board who will make the final decision, which could lead to non participation in any or all future shows.
THE ART LEAGUE, EXHIBITS RAIN OR SHINE. EARLY CLOSING WILL BE DECIDED BY SHOW CHAIR PERSON. EARLY TAKE DOWN WILL RESULT IN EXHIBITING PRIVILEGES BEING REVOKED.
