CELEBRATING OUR 50TH YEAR IN 2015
Welcome to the DELRAY ART LEAGUE web site. Our hope is that you enjoy the art on this site and visit us at our Art Shows. Our Artists in the Park outdoor show is the longest running outdoor show in south Florida.
Incorporated in 1965, 2015 marks the 50th anniversary for the DAL! The events will be:
Thurs. Feb 26. Plein Air Festival. 8:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. in the courtyard of the Delray Center for the Arts at Old School Square. Registration is 8:00-9:00 a.m. Apply online at www.pleinairpalmbeach.com. Application fee is $40. Cash awards totaling $2000 will be given. Exhibition & sale will be from 4-7 p.m. Judging from 5-7 p.m., with live music by the Florida Youth Orchestra.
Friday Feb 27-Sunday March 1. Special 3 Day Art Festival, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. On the grounds of the Delray Center for the Arts on the corner of Atlantic & N Swinton Aves with music & street performers.
Friday, Feb 27. Celebration Banquet, 7-11 p.m. at the Delray Beach Center for the Arts gymnasium. Music, dancing, catered dinner, special recognitions, speakers. There will also be a silent auction of art work donated by member artists and a raffle. Proceeds will benefit the DAL Scholarship Program. Contact the league for ticket information.
Saturday and Sunday, Feb 28 & Mar 1. Artist Within - Various age groups of children will create drawings on large paper pads. The pads will be on display & each young artist will be able to take their masterpiece home. No registration, just show up.
Sunday, Mar 1. Along with the Art Festival, youth art programs and portraiture there will be Southern Dance, Magic Cards, Music by Steve Martel and the High School Art Contest.
OUR MISSION & PURPOSE:
To advance the public interest in the visual arts and to promote the development of excellence in visual arts in the South Palm Beach area.
General Meetings are always held the second Monday of the month at 7p.m. from October through April
in the Chambers room at Delray Beach City Hall.
